In this article, we introduce you the technique of various shoka styles using much loved plants “Kakitsubata (Iris laevigata). The topic this time is about, Kakitsubata works in spring.

In spring, flowers of Kakitsuba which failed to bloom in winter, grow low immaturely effected by a lingering cold weather. Therefore, when arranging, flowers should be positioned lower than leaves. In early spring, the leaves should in fact not be rearranged, but rather used as they grow in nature, because the leaves are soft and supple in that season.
