Description
Bronze Vase Suitable for Shoka
This vase is a Shoka vase favored by the 43rd headmaster of Ikenobo, Ikenobo Senkei.
The name "Shihai-nami" (四海波, Waves of the Four Seas) is derived from a line in the Noh play Takasago.
It features a square mouth that harmonizes with the angular body, which gently flares at the base to create a beautiful silhouette.
The square mouth symbolizes the four seas, while the four round rings and circular handles represent a wish for harmony and completeness in all directions.
