The Nijūgiri is a bamboo vase with two openings—one at the top and one lower down. The upper opening is called the “upper mouth,” and the lower one is the “lower mouth.”
Trailing or cascading flowers are arranged in the upper mouth, while upright stems and branches are placed in the lower mouth, creating a harmonious balance between the two.
