Traditional Vase of Ikenobo

This thin-edged vase, designed by the 41st Headmaster Ikenobo Senmyo, is a traditional  vase unique to Ikenobo. It is said to be modeled after the round sanpo used for offerings during the Ino Day festival in the Imperial Court, which was held to pray for a bountiful harvest.

This vase is used for the "gyo" style of Ikebana, allowing for the free expression of dynamic floral materials. It can be used for Isshu-ike, Nishu-ike and Sanshu-ike arrangement.

When arranging flowers, place the inscription towards the back, facing Soe side. The vase is made of brass with a painted finish.
